ByeRadon Inc. ("Bye Radon," "we," "us," or "our") operates byeradon.ca (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site or book a radon test, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you contact us by phone, text, or email, or book a test through our online booking tool, we receive the information you choose to share — typically your name, phone number, email address, property address, and details about your booking request.

Booking information (RadonCRM)

The Book a Free Radon Test and Radon Risk Map pages embed a scheduling tool from our third-party booking provider, RadonCRM. When you use that embedded tool, the information you enter is submitted directly to RadonCRM and is subject to RadonCRM's own privacy practices, not this policy. We receive your booking details from RadonCRM in order to schedule and carry out your test or mitigation service.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring pages. This is collected through:

Google Analytics 4 — usage and traffic analytics.
Cloudflare — our content delivery and security provider, which sees traffic as part of routing and protecting the Site.
Elfsight — powers the Google reviews widget shown on our homepage.
Google Places API — used to display our current Google star rating and review count; this does not collect information about you.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies set by Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and Elfsight to remember basic preferences and measure how the Site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect how some embedded features (like the reviews widget) display, but will not prevent you from browsing the Site or contacting us.

How We Use Your Information

To schedule, perform, and follow up on radon testing and mitigation services.
To respond to inquiries made by phone, text, or email.
To send booking confirmations and service-related communication.
To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
To maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate our business:

With RadonCRM, our booking provider, to schedule and manage appointments.
With Google (Analytics, Places API) and Cloudflare, as service providers that support the Site.
Where required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ByeRadon Inc., our customers, or others.

Data Retention

We keep customer and booking information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet our legal and warranty obligations (our mitigation systems carry a 5-year all-inclusive warranty plus a 15-year workmanship warranty), and for reasonable business record-keeping afterward.

Your Choices & Rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about how it's used. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for homeowners and adults arranging radon testing services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
